A first-person inflation video?

I don’t like everything that TaylorMadeClips does, but I like an increasing amount of it. Yes, the production values are low — they’re shooting in an apartment somewhere, they’re cobbling together music of the moment, they’re letting actresses improv sometimes to a fault — but when it comes to trying new ideas? They go for it. I mentioned this with one of their artsy experiments earlier this year. But even when those experiments don’t work out, they are interesting because they take creative risks, or they chase an unusual idea or setup. That chase is a noble pursuit. I like that I’m never really sure what is going to happen in one of their clips; they know that one movie can not be all things to all people, so they keep making different ones, figuring one of the ones they release is likely to scratch your personal itch.
The most recent release that really took me by major pleasant surprise (and I don’t watch them all, plus I’m currently a little behind on the ones I do want to see) is the rather unimaginatively titled POV Forced Body Inflation — but the upside is that the workmanlike title should already tell you why it’s unusual. I can’t recall the last time I’ve seen a first-person inflation scene. The loose plot involves a guy getting blown up by his vengeful ex, so there’s lots of swearing and a fair amount of humiliation thrown at the camera (a fetish that Taylor’s crew handles on a larger scale, so a little crossover is to be expected). So right off the bat, “guy getting blown up” and “humiliation” won’t work for some people — but that, combined with clever “drowsy camera” effects and the woman’s latex outfit, just completely short-circuited my brain. Again, I never really know what to expect from a TMC movie, but I didn’t expect that. Let me praise it this way: I had to watch it in two sessions.
Yes, I wish there were a complete story. Yes, I wish the actress was doing more than just insulting the camera. Yes, I thought the hair dryer was a strange choice of delivery, but no stranger than anything else this fetish incorporates.
Most importantly, yes, I hope this becomes a series of short films. I would love to see females getting blown up from this POV — how about a sequel where we find that the girl’s angry because the guy cheated on her, so now she’s tracked down the other woman? But I’d be down for more male stuff too, with a bit more care on the first-person POV and effects.
Say what you will about the low-budget presentation — you can still see the effort. And I’d argue that execution of an idea is step two after the idea itself. And I really felt this was a good idea.
